The Great Chocoplot, art and swimming!
An exciting start to the new half-term.
We have got straight back to learning after the half-term break.
In English we are using The Great Chocoplot as a starting point for our narrative writing. This week we have been writing descriptions of the rainforest, we are very pleased with the sentence structure and the descriptive vocabulary we are all using.
Our class reader is The Firework-Maker's Daughter which has hooked us straight in, and we look forward to finding out what is going to happen each day.
Our maths work this half-term will focus on fractions. This week we have been working with mixed numbers. We continue to learn the times tables; we are incredibly proud of how well we are doing.
The focus for the blocked curriculum is art. We have looked at African inspired patterns before creating our own mono-prints and press-prints. Next week we will create collograph prints with collograph relief blocks that we have created.
Today, we set off to Great Yarmouth for the first of our swimming lessons, most children were really excited but some were a little apprehensive. However, everyone put in maximum effort and by the end of the lesson had made good progress. The class were once again complimented on their outstanding behaviour and determination to do well - you make us all so proud - keep it up 4RH!
