Welcome Back to Summer!
Cricket Taster shows it must be Summer!
Well, it is meant to be the Summer term, but evidently nobody has told the weather yet, as we continue to get rain, wind and a chill in the air. Hopefully, things will brighten and dry up in the coming weeks, especially for our new, resident bees.
The children have returned in good spirits and I am thrilled that positive behaviour has remained intact after the break. It has been very enjoyable seeing the children in their classes, in assemblies and out on the playground interacting with me in their kind and comical way. Our children truly are lovely and we are very proud of them.
Let me also take this opportunity to remind parents about the correct footwear in line with our uniform policy. Children should be wearing black school shoes and not white trainers on days when they do not have PE. Parents will be spoken to regarding any issues with uniform.
The honey bees have arrived and until all consents are in from those pupils interested in helping, Miss. McMylor and I will be tending to them each week to make sure everything looks healthy. The bee-friendly plants are in our raised beds and their enclosure is secure, so the bees have everything they need to produce honey efficiently. There is even talk that we may be able to have our honey on display at the Norfolk Show. I am very keen to get the children working with the bees, because back in the day that is where I began my fascination with these insects, so I am hoping they will learn new skills and pick up a new hobby for them to pursue when they are older.
The cricket taster was also a great success without being spoiled by the rain. Again, pupils can use these type of sessions to develop a talent and pursue their interest further independently.
The Director of Children's Services visited on Friday to see our new immersive space and her and her team were very impressed at the endless capability this facility can provide to enhance curriculums and support additional needs. The children and staff do love going in there. We even have other schools visiting to use the space too.
Next week, we are looking to secure the design of a new mural on the entrance into our immersive room, so Sunny and Pea are coming into talk ideas. They produce some fantastic work.
Have a great weekend everyone!
