Electricity

This week we have started to study the poem Still I Rise by Maya Angelou. We are using it to inspire our own poetry writing about overcoming adversity and rising up against bullying.

During the afternoons, we have been working scientifically. We have investigated electrical circuits, finding out what is needed to create a circuit, how to include a bulb, a motor and a switch. We have also investigated which materials are electrical conductors and which are insulators. 

In our maths lessons we have come to the end of the place value unit with us learning how to round four-digit numbers to the nearest 10, 100 and 1,000.  

Today, we came to school in non-uniform in exchange for harvest festival donations - we are looking forward to visiting Ormesby Church next week to take part in the annual harvest festival service.
